(A) All samples and determinations of wastewater characteristics shall be as representative of the waste discharge as possible. The costs of regular sampling and analysis will be included in the permit or class type. The town may take additional samples after a significant process change which significantly affects the quantity or strength of the wastewater discharged. The frequency of sampling shall be as shown in the table below. More frequent sampling may be done at any time at the option of the city or any industry where pretreatment is required or that has discharged incompatible wastes in the past.
Daily Average Flow (Thousand Gallons Per Day) | Minimum Required Frequency of Tests for Surcharge Parameters |
0 - 20 | 1 per year |
20 - 30 | 1 per 6 months |
30 - 40 | 1 per 3 months |
40 - 50 | 1 per month |
Over 50 | 2 per month |
(B) (1) Upon request by the person concerned, the town shall make available split samples of the composite sample collected.
(2) If the person feels the results are not representative of their wastes, the town may resample at a cost to the user to be determined by the Board of
Commissioners from time to time, which will include sampling and analysis for B.O.D., T.S.S., C.O.D., pH, chlorine demand, and oil and grease.
(3) Heavy metals analysis, if necessary, will be at an extra charge to be determined by the Board.
