339.12 TRUCK ROUTES.
   (a)   Truck Routes as Approved for Operation of Commercial Vehicles.
      (1)   Operators of commercial motor vehicles traveling from any point outside of the municipal corporation of the Village of Whitehouse (Whitehouse), Lucas County, Ohio shall proceed by the shortest route over any of the streets so designated in Section 339.02 to such point on the delivery location within the Village.
      (2)   Any operator of a commercial vehicle traveling from a point within a municipal corporation of the Village to a destination outside of said municipal corporation shall proceed from the starting point over the most direct route upon designated streets for said commercial traffic set forth in Section 339.02 until reaching the point of departure from said municipal corporation.
   (b)   Regulation of Truck Routing. The Director of Public Service is hereby empowered to make and enforce administration of such regulations as are necessary to make for the effective regulation of commercial truck traffic pursuant to this section and further shall place and maintain, or cause to be placed and maintained, such legible and appropriate signs and markers on all streets and highways as determined by said Director at a point of entrance to the municipal corporation of the Village. Said signage shall specify a 5,000 pound load limit for non-commercial streets and shall maintain and place or cause to be maintained or placed such appropriate signage or marker along the streets so designated and further to place such designated signage along or at the entrance to streets which shall prohibit said through commercial truck traffic or the operation of said commercial vehicles upon such streets in prohibition of this section.
   (c)   Commercial truck/motor vehicle traffic shall be prohibited upon all streets and thoroughfares as designated administratively by the Director of Public Service within the Village.
   (d)   Whoever shall violate any provision of this section shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor on the first offense and upon any second offense within one-year after the date of the first offense, the person or operator shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
