Nominations for elective offices of the Municipality shall be made only by petition filed with the election authorities at least sixty (60) days prior to the date of holding of the primary election with respect to which such petition is filed and signed by electors of the Municipality not less in number than two percent (2%) of the number of electors voting at the last general municipal election with a minimum of twenty-five (25) signatures. The nomination of each candidate shall be made by a separate petition accompanied by the written acceptance of nomination by the candidate.
