Any person, firm or corporation doing business in the city without payment of the city occupation tax and without having been issued a license to transact its business shall upon conviction in the city court be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in a sum of not less than $5 and not more than $500 and each day of violation shall constitute a separate offense.
