161.18 FUNERAL LEAVE.

   (a)   Death in the Immediate Family. Each full-time officer or full-time employee of the City, as defined by Section 161.01(a)(22) having worked a full-time schedule during the previous six or more calendar months shall be entitled to leave up to forty hours for a funeral service and/or interment of a member of his immediate family. The number of hours leave to be given for a funeral shall be allowed those days immediately after death and before the funeral service or interment plus one additional day thereafter, except when the death is that of an employee's spouse or the employee's child, the employee may take a total of forty hours of additional regularly scheduled working hours after interment.
