916.03 MEMBERSHIP AND TERMS

   (a)   The Commission shall consist of five (5) members. Additionally, one member of Council may and the Parks Director shall act as advisory members of the Commission. The Parks Director or their Agent shall serve as Secretary to the Commission.

   (b)   The Mayor. subject to the approval of the City Council shall appoint all members of the Commission.

   (c)   The Chairperson of the Commission shall preside over all meetings ofthe Commission and act as parliamentarian. The Vice-Chairperson shall assume the duties of the Chairperson in his or her absence.

   (d)   The term of the five (5) persons to be appointed shall be three (3) years, provided that the term of two (2) of the members appointed to the first Commission shall be for one (1) year and two (2) of the members appointed to the first Commission shall be for two (2) years. In the event that a vacancy shall occur during the term of any member, his or her successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion of the term.

   (e)   The Commission members shall serve without compensation.

   (f)   Any Commission member who misses three (3) consecutive meetings or more than fifty percent (50%) of the regular meetings on an annual basis may be removed from the Tree Commission. (Ord. 101-2023. Passed 12-19-23.)
