The fire alarm requirements of the West Virginia State Fire Code in its entirety are hereby adopted and made a part of this Fire Prevention Code.
The requirement set forth in paragraph 7 of Subsection 11.01 of Section 11 is amended and changed to read as follows:
The fire alarm systems in the following occupancies shall be connected to a monitoring agency that automatically notifies emergency dispatch by an approved method as specified by the Chief of the Department.

(a) All institutional and health care occupancies;
(b) All educational occupancies;
(c) All hotels, motels, tourist homes, motor inns, etc.;
(d) All residential occupancies four or more stories in height or more than sixteen separate units;
(e) All business and/or mercantile occupancy buildings subject to occupancy of 100 or more occupants above or below the level of exit discharge;
(f) All hazardous occupancies;
(g) All buildings which due to occupancy, construction, location, or any other reason, the Chief or Chief Inspector shall require.
