The Legal Department shall settle or compromise claims or suits to which the City may be a party, either by judgment entry or otherwise, with the approval of the City Manager for the payment of sums not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) and with the approval of Council for the payment of sums in excess of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
