All licenses required by this Business Regulation and Taxation Code or other ordinances of the City, except as may be provided to the contrary, and all annual permits required or authorized by this Code or other ordinances of the City except as may be provided to the contrary, shall run from July 1 and shall expire on the next succeeding June 30, unless sooner revoked or suspended. In the event any business, activity, trade or employment is begun after July 1 of any year a license effective until the following June 30 shall be issued.
