1-11-27: COURT FUND CREATED; FEES FOR INDIGENT DEFENDANTS:
   A.   Fund Created And Maintained: There is hereby created the Court Fund of the Municipal Court of the City into which shall be deposited all receipts of court costs, fines and levies for any matters filed in the Municipal Court of the City. The Clerk shall maintain a separate account of the funds received and paid out from the Court Fund. The City Treasurer shall at all times maintain in the Court Fund the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) out of which claims for attorney fees for representation of indigent criminals shall be paid. All amounts received in payment of court costs, fines, or other payments into such fund in excess of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) shall be paid into the General Fund of the City.
   B.   Payment To Court Appointed Attorney: The Judge of the Municipal Court of the City shall determine the amount, if any, to be paid to an attorney who has been appointed and has actually represented a qualifying indigent defendant in an action in court. Upon such determination, the amount thereof shall be certified by the Judge to the City Treasurer who shall be authorized to include the amount in the purchase orders and warrants to be approved by the City Council at its next regularly scheduled meeting. In no event shall the payment to an attorney for representation of a single defendant in a single cause exceed the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00). (1983 Code § 6-137)
