9-10-12: ANCHORING REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Number Of Ties: The number of ties required is one for every ten feet (10') of length and width and no further than five feet (5') from either end of the mobile home.
   B.   Anchors: Anchors are required as follows:
      1.   Auger or dead man, six inches (6") in diameter; arrowhead, eight inches (8").
      2.   Auger or arrowhead depth, four feet (4'); dead man, five feet (5'). All augers must be screwed into the earth the full four foot (4') depth.
      3.   Anchor rod, four-eighths inch (4/8") diameter with welded eye at top; must be hooked into six inch (6") diameter concrete, four feet (4') in ground when used in dead man anchors.
   C.   Connectors: The requirements for connectors are:
      1.   Galvanized or stainless steel cable, three-eighths inch (3/8") (7 x 7 seven wires each).
      2.   Galvanized aircraft cable, one-fourth inch (1/4") (7 x 19, 7 strands of 19 wires each).
      3.   Cable ends secured by two (2) U-bolt clamps.
      4.   Steel rods, five-eighths inch (5/8") with ends welded closed to form an eye.
      5.   Turnbuckles, five-eighths inch (5/8") drop forged, closed eyes. Other tensioning devices of similar strength approved.
   D.   Piers And Footings: The requirements for piers and footings are:
      1.   Spaced at ten foot (10') intervals on both frame rails with end ones no further than five feet (5') from end of mobile home.
      2.   Footings of solid concrete sixteen inch by sixteen inch by four inch (16" x 16" x 4"); or piers of standard eight inch by sixteen inch (8" x 16") solid concrete block.
      3.   Wood blocks used for leveling shall not exceed a maximum thickness of four inches (4"). Such blocks must be of nominal eight inch by sixteen inch (8" x 16") dimensions.
      4.   Other equivalent piers accepted. An adjustable screw anchor type column fastened to both frame rail and to a concrete pad of four inch (4") thickness extending the length and width of the mobile home is especially recommended.
   E.   Patios, Awnings: The requirements for patios, awnings and cabana roofs are:
      1.   Two (2) rows of vertical support bars, spacing twelve feet (12'); second row to be down middle or at mobile home edge, anchored to concrete floor or equivalent footings.
      2.   Other structures on lot must be secured.
      3.   Tip out rooms to be held by over the home tie at outer edge.
      4.   Clerestory roof requires over the home tie at end of each raised section. (1983 Code § 12-513)
