9-3-19: SERVICE AND CONDUIT GROUNDS:
   A.   Service Grounds:
      1.   On each service, a ground wire not smaller than no. 6 must be run from the line ground wire terminal inside the entrance switch cabinet to the nearest water pipe, or other suitable ground in accordance with the requirements of the national electrical code.
      2.   Grounds must not be connected to gas pipe nor to copper water pipe having a soldered connection between ground connection and ground. Ground wires are to have no type of splice between meter base and earth ground. (1983 Code § 5-421)
   B.   Conduit Ground: In addition to the service ground, a separate ground wire of the proper size must be provided for the conduit and service cabinet as required by the national electrical code. (1983 Code § 5-422)
