9-3-6: JOURNEYMAN AND APPRENTICE REGISTRATION; FEES:
   A.   Registration Required; Fees:
      1.   Any person desiring to do electrical wiring in the city and being employed by a registered contractor shall make application to the electrical inspector for a certificate of registration as a journeyman or apprentice.
      2.   The registration shall be on a yearly basis, the year starting each July 1, for which the following fees shall be paid:
         a.   For registration as a journeyman electrician, the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) per year; and
         b.   For registration as an apprentice electrician, the sum of three dollars ($3.00) per year.
   B.   Employment Of Apprentice: Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prohibit the employment of any apprentice working under the direct supervision of a duly registered wireman, journeyman or electrician. Such apprentice must register with the electrical inspector, pay the certificate fee provided above, give a history of his electrical experience and request his journeyman examination within six (6) months from the date of such registration as an apprentice.
   C.   State License Required: Before a certificate may be issued to any apprentice or journeyman, the applicant shall procure the appropriate state license from the state, with copy provided to the city. (1983 Code § 5-406)
