9-3-4: ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION; FEE:
   A.   Registration Certificate Required:
      1.   All persons, firms, partnerships, corporations or individuals engaged or hereafter engaging in the business of installing electric wiring, lighting fixtures or electrical apparatus of any nature in or on any building within the city limits shall procure from the city clerk a certificate of registration, which certificate, so long as in force, shall entitle the holder thereof to install electric wiring for the transmission of electric energy for light, heat or power.
      2.   Before any such certificate is issued, the appropriate state license must be obtained and a copy provided to the city by the applicant.
   B.   Fee:
      1.   The annual fee for such certificate to each person, firm or corporation shall be in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) per year.
      2.   The entire amount is payable in advance on a yearly basis and shall be issued for the fiscal year starting July 1 each year.
      3.   Such license shall be renewed within thirty (30) days before expiration, upon payment of fifty dollars ($50.00).
      4.   A public service corporation operating under a regular franchise shall be exempt from the requirement as above mentioned, insofar as the same affects property owned or controlled by them. (1983 Code § 5-404)
