A. Adoption: There is hereby adopted by reference the standard building code, the latest edition thereof, issued by the Southern Building Code Congress International, as the building code for the city. The standard building code shall be fully applicable and enforceable in controlling the construction and repair of all buildings and other structures in the city, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, as fully as if set out at length herein.
B. Conflicting Provisions: If any provision of current ordinances of the city are in conflict with the provisions of the building code, except as provided in this chapter, the provisions of the building code shall prevail. (1983 Code § 5-101)
C. Copy On File: At least one copy of the code adopted in subsection A of this section shall be on file in the office of the city clerk and available for inspection by the general public. (2005 Code)
