8-4-2: SANITARY INSPECTOR:
   A.   Appointment; Duties: There shall be appointed a sanitary officer, known as sanitary inspector, whose duties shall be such as are provided by law, and by the ordinances and resolutions of the city council. He shall be appointed by the city administrator. (1983 Code § 17-401)
   B.   Inspections; Report Nuisance Conditions: It is the duty of the sanitary inspector to watch over and inspect the sanitary condition of all the territory within the city, and to ascertain whether any nuisances exist within the territory in violation of the ordinances of the city or the laws of the state. In the event of the violation of any of the laws, he shall report the same to the proper authorities and procure prosecutions to be instituted against the parties guilty of such violation.
