Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, any person who shall violate any section of this chapter, either by doing that which is prohibited or by failing or refusing to do that which is commanded, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine in any amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00), plus costs.
