(A) Before any construction project is commenced on any property within the city limits, whether by new construction, a remodel or by an add-on, the owner of the property or his or her agent shall obtain a building permit from the City Clerk. The fees for said permit shall be as follows: $15 for up to the first $500 of the estimated total cost of the project, and $1 for each additional $500 of the estimated total cost of the project, up to a maximum of a $100 building permit fee.
(B) In addition to the building permit fees, there shall be an inspection fee collected by the City Clerk, to be collected simultaneously with the issuance of building permits, as follows:
(1) Water connections inspection: $10;
(2) Sewer tap inspection: $10;
(3) Concrete inspection: $10; and
(4) Electrical inspection: $10.
(C) Only those persons who are licensed as electricians and plumbers, per the requirements of the city, may make connections for water, sewer, plumbing or electrical services.
(D) The owner or his or her agent shall be responsible for notifying OKIE DIG in advance to be sure that no structures will be built over existing lines or easements.
