8-2-1: RULES OF WORD CONSTRUCTION:
The language set forth in this Title shall be interpreted in accordance with the following rules of construction:
   A.   Words used in the present tense include the future tense.
   B.   Words in the singular include the plural and vice versa.
   C.   The word "shall" is always mandatory, and the word "may" is permissive.
   D.   The word "persons" includes an association, firm, partnership or corporation as well as an individual.
   E.   The word "occupied" and the word "used" shall be considered as meaning the same as the words "intended", "arranged" or "designed to be used or occupied".
   F.   The word "dwelling" includes the word "residence".
   G.   The word "lot" includes the words "plot" or "parcel". (Ord. 91-9, 6-4-1991)
