A. Building Code: A certain document, one copy of which is on file in the office of the city clerk and in the office of the director of community development, being marked and designated as 2003 international building code (IBC) as issued by the International Code Council is hereby adopted as the building code of the city for regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the city; providing for issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; providing penalties for violation of such code; declaring and establishing fire zones. Each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such international building code (IBC) on file in the office of the city clerk are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter.
B. Additional Codes: The provisions of the international building code (IBC) concerning mechanical codes, plumbing codes, building codes (residential and commercial), and electrical codes govern within the city. Any previous uniform codes concerning mechanical, building, plumbing and electrical codes are hereby repealed to the extent the provisions of the international building code (IBC) governs such matters after the effective date hereof. Any references within this code to uniform building code, uniform mechanical code, uniform plumbing code and uniform electrical code shall hereafter refer solely to the international building code (IBC).
