It shall be unlawful to wilfully and unlawfully use force or violence upon the person of another. For purposes of this section, the term "person", in addition to its normal and customary meaning in misdemeanor crimes, shall include persons who possess some or all of the powers of a peace officer, persons employed in firefighting for the benefit or safety of the public or any licensed or unlicensed person employed by the board of trustees of the school district.
