For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE FOR HIRE. Every person, persons, firms or corporations operating any motor vehicle along and upon any public street or highway within the town for the purpose of carrying passengers for hire, is hereby declared to be a COMMERCIAL VEHICLE FOR HIRE and is hereinafter referred to as a TAXICAB and is hereby required to be operated in accordance with the following provisions of this chapter.
