§ 71.52  OFFICER AUTHORIZED TO REMOVE ILLEGALLY STOPPED VEHICLES.
   Whenever any police officer finds a vehicle standing upon a highway in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, the officer is hereby authorized to require the driver or other person in charge of the vehicle to move the same to a position off the paved or improved or main traveled part of the highway, provided that if any person so directed shall fail or refuse to move the vehicle or if the vehicle is unattended then the officer is hereby authorized to provide for the removal of the vehicle to the nearest available garage or other place of safety.
