(A) Flight from an officer shall be unlawful and an offense.
(B) A person commits the offense of flight from a municipal police officer, if:
(1) Said person is the operator of a vehicle and refuses to stop said vehicle as soon as is safely possible, when signaled to do so by a law enforcement officer;
(2) Upon stopping said vehicle at the signal of a law enforcement officer, abandons said vehicle and leaves, or attempts to leave, the immediate area without the permission of the law enforcement officer;
(3) Said person is a passenger in a vehicle and abandons the vehicle after a law enforcement officer has signaled the vehicle to stop;
(4) After the vehicle has stopped, leaves the immediate area without the permission of the law enforcement officer; or
(5) Said person is a pedestrian and leaves, or attempts to leave, the immediate area after being directed by a law enforcement officer to stop or to remain in said area for a reasonable length of time.
