§ 122.20 RELOCATION.
   122.20(A)   Standards for relocation.
   122.20(A)(1)   Any being relocated shall not be damaged during removal, transport, or replanting of that .
   122.20(A)(2)   If the species has a dormant period, the shall be relocated during that time.
   122.20(A)(3)   Adequate space for root and crown development shall be provided.
   122.20(A)(4)   An inspection is required prior to root Pruning and relocation. In addition, a final inspection is required after installation and/or relocation.
   122.20(A)(5)    shall be root Pruned according to sound arboricultural standards prior to relocation. Root Pruning utilizing mechanical methods such as backhoes or trenchers is prohibited, and shall constitute a violation of this Chapter. Root Pruning shall extend to the of the to the maximum extent possible. Root Pruned shall remain in place for a minimum of 90 days prior to relocation, except for which shall remain in place for a minimum of 120 days prior to relocation. Manual watering shall be required during and following the root Pruning process until re-established. The root ball must be kept moist at all times.
   122.20(A)(6)   All crown Pruning shall be minimized and done in accordance with standards set by the American National Standards Institute. No Pruning shall be done without prior approval.
   122.20(A)(7)    and vegetation to be relocated during or other activities shall be stored, staked, and irrigated in a suitable area with the granting of a . One-time relocation is preferred.
   122.20(A)(8)   During and following relocation, the root ball and trunk shall be protected. The root ball shall be kept moist at all times.
   122.20(A)(9)   Relocated shall be braced for at least one or until establishment.
   122.20(A)(10)   Relocated shall be watered sufficiently and fertilized until the growth is reestablished. All relocated shall have Terrasorb and appropriate fertilizer applied to the planting soil at the time of relocation per the manufacturer’s specifications, with a pH balance between 6.5 and 7.0.
   122.20(A)(11)   Relocated and palms shall be planted in a or palm pit with a minimum of two times the root ball and shall be filled with a clean soil mix of at least 50% sand and no more than 50% muck, with a pH balance between 6.5 and 7.0, and no mulch and be free of , weeds and rocks. Any deviations shall require approval. The root ball shall be 10% higher than grade.
   122.20(A)(12)   A written report including, but not limited to, how the relocation is proposed is required. Additionally, experience and references may be required.
   122.20(A)(13)   A pre- inspection is required prior to root Pruning and relocation. In addition, a final inspection is required after installation.
   122.20(B)   Bond Requirements. A permit holder conducting Tree relocation activities involving shall post a with the , which shall be held by the for one from the approved relocation date to ensure replacement in the event that relocation or results in the death of any subject to a or for any damaged or destroyed in any pre-development or activities. Such bond amount shall be determined by the and shall be equal to twice the amount of the published trade wholesale price.
   122.20(C)   Determination of condition of relocated and release of .
   122.20(C)(1)   A registered or certified shall determine the condition of each one after the was relocated or planted. This determination shall be in writing and submitted to the for approval within 30 days of being made. Upon approval of the that the relocation was successful, the posted for relocation shall be returned to the .
   122.20(C)(2)   Should any die or be in a state of unnatural decline within one of being planted or relocated, the permit holder shall be required to replace the within 60 days of that determination. The one- monitoring and approval period shall begin anew whenever a is replaced. If that replacement is found not to be viable at the end of the second yearly monitoring period, the permit holder may pay the appropriate amount into the Weston Trust Fund as required in § 122.25 in lieu of planting a third replacement . If the permit holder fails to replace the or to pay the appropriate amount into the Weston Tree Trust Fund within the 60 days, then the permit holder shall be in violation of this Chapter.
