111.31(A)
. The following discharge standards apply to the
system:
111.31(A)(1) General prohibitions. No user shall introduce or cause to be introduced into the
(“POTW”) any pollutant(s) or
that causes
or
. These general prohibitions apply to all users of the
whether or not they are subject to categorical
standards or any other national, , or local
standards or requirements.
111.31(A)(2) Specific prohibitions. No user shall introduce or cause to be introduced into the
the following pollutants, substances, or
:
111.31(A)(2)(a) Any gasoline, benzene, naphtha, fuel oil, or other flammable pollutants which create a fire or explosive hazard in the
, including, but not limited to, wastestreams with a closed-cup flashpoint of less than 140°F (60°C) using the test methods specified in 40 C.F.R. 261.21;
111.31(A)(2)(b)
having a pH less than 5.5 or more than 9.5, or otherwise causing corrosive structural damage to the
or equipment;
111.31(A)(2)(c) Solid or viscous substances in amounts that will cause obstruction of the flow in the
resulting in
, but in no case solids greater than one-half inch in any dimension;
111.31(A)(2)(d) Pollutants, including oxygen-demanding pollutants (BOD, etc.), released in a discharge at a flow rate and/or pollutant concentration which, either singly or by interaction with other pollutants, will cause
with the
;
111.31(A)(2)(e)
having a temperature greater than 150°F (65.5°C), or that will inhibit biological activity in the treatment plant resulting in
, but in no case
that causes the temperature at the introduction into the treatment plant to exceed 104°F (40°C);
111.31(A)(2)(f) Petroleum oil, nonbiodegradable cutting oil, or products of mineral oil origin, in amounts that will cause
or
;
111.31(A)(2)(g) Pollutants which result in the presence of toxic gases, vapors, or fumes within the
in a quantity that may cause acute worker health and safety problems;
111.31(A)(2)(h) Trucked or hauled pollutants, except at discharge points designated by the
;
111.31(A)(2)(i) Noxious or malodorous liquids, gases, solids, or other
which, either singly or by interaction with other wastes, are sufficient to create a public nuisance or a hazard to life, or to prevent entry into the
for maintenance or repair;
111.31(A)(2)(j)
that imparts color that cannot be removed by the treatment process, such as, but not limited to, dye wastes and vegetable tanning solutions, which consequently imparts color to the treatment plant’s effluent;
111.31(A)(2)(k)
containing any radioactive wastes or isotopes except in compliance with applicable
or federal regulations;
111.31(A)(2)(l)
, surface water, ground water, artesian well water,
runoff, subsurface drainage, swimming pool drainage, condensate, deionized water, noncontact cooling water, and unpolluted
, unless specifically authorized by the
;
111.31(A)(2)(m) Sludges, screenings, or other residues from the
of industrial wastes;
111.31(A)(2)(n)
, except as specifically authorized by the
in a
discharge permit;
111.31(A)(2)(o)
causing, alone or in conjunction with other sources, the treatment plant’s effluent to fail a toxicity test;
111.31(A)(2)(p) Detergents, surface-active agents, or other substances that may cause excessive foaming in the
;
111.31(A)(2)(q) Fats, oils, or greases of animal or vegetable origin in concentrations greater than 100 mg/l; or
111.31(A)(2)(r)
causing two readings on an explosion hazard meter at the point of discharge into the
, or at any point in the
, of more than 5% or any single reading over 10% of the lower explosive limit of the meter.

of the Sunrise Utilities system shall comply with the City of Sunrise Code of Ordinances regarding
discharge regulations.
111.31(C) Discharge to the
