SCHEDULE II. SPEED LIMITS

   (A)   The town speed limit is 35 mph except where posted on state roads and as listed in division (B) below.

   (B)   Pursuant to G.S. § 20-141(e), a maximum speed limit of 20 mph is hereby established on the following town streets:

      (1)   Ridge Avenue;

      (2)   N. Church Avenue;

      (3)   S. Church Avenue;

      (4)   College Avenue;

      (5)   W. Second Street;

      (6)   E. Second Street;

      (7)   Backstreet;

      (8)   W. Third Street;

      (9)   W. Fourth Street;

      (10)   Wilton Avenue;

      (11)   N. Main Street;

      (12)   Long Street;

      (13)   Ridgecrest Avenue;

      (14)   Mountain Avenue;

      (15)   Locust Street;

      (16)   Ford Street;

      (17)   Barnett Street;

      (18)   Hice Avenue;

      (19)   Woodie Avenue; and

      (20)   Oak Avenue

   (C)   Pursuant to G.S. § 20-141.1, a school speed limit zone is established on School Avenue for the section of the street from approximately 120 feet northwest of Hice Avenue to 30 feet southeast of Burkett Avenue. The maximum speed limit for this section shall be 20 mph, and shall be in effect when school is in session from 7:15 a.m. until 8:15 a.m., and 2:15 p.m. until 3:15 p.m.

   (D)   Any person convicted of violating any of the above designated speed limits in the designated speed zones shall be punished as provided for in the general statutes.
