§ 30.20 JURISDICTION.
   (A)   The Fire Department is authorized to furnish protection against fire to residents and property owners within a ten-mile radius of the corporate limits of the town under and upon the following terms and conditions.
      (1)   The town, through its authorised agents, may contract to furnish fire protection for any residence and its outbuildings situated within the aforesaid area for an annual fee of $3, plus an additional fee of $20 for any trip made to the premises to extinguish a fire. The town may agree to furnish fire protection for any business building within the area for an annual fee of $5, plus an additional fee of $20 for any trip made to the premises to extinguish a fire.
      (2)   The Fire Department is authorized to send on any rural call a jeep fire truck, and not less than four firefighters, provided, however, that in no event shall the town, or its Fire Department, be obligated to send any of its fire-fighting equipment outside its corporate limits if the same is needed or already in use within its corporate limits or already in use elsewhere.
   (B)   It shall be specifically provided in the aforesaid contracts that the equipment of the Fire Department is maintained primarily for the use and protection of the residents and property owners of the town, and in the event any of its equipment should be on a rural call and a call should be received to extinguish a fire within the corporate limits of the town, then in that event, the equipment may be forthwith returned to the town.
   (C)   The Fire Department may answer a call to extinguish any rural fire whether it occurs upon the premises of one who has a contract for fire protection or not, provided, however, if the owner of the property whereon the fire occurs has no contract with the town for fire protection, the fee for the service shall be $50 for each call.
   (D)   The Fire Department is authorized to employ its equipment to extinguish any fire which occurs in any school, church, or publicly owned building, whether within or without the corporate limits of the town, without fee or charge.
