(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to park or leave standing upon any street, road, thoroughfare or highway in the Village, any motor vehicle, camper, trailer, farm implement and/or non-motorized vehicle for a continued period of twenty-four hours except on weekends and holidays, at which the time shall be seventy-two hours.
(b) Should any motor vehicle become inoperative by reason of mechanical failure, the owner, lessee or person, firm or corporation charged with the possession thereof, may upon written application to the Mayor, apply for an extension of time for such continuous parking and the Mayor for good cause shown, may issue a permit to extend such continued parking but not to exceed in any case an additional twenty-four hour period.
(c) In the event a permit is issued by the Mayor, the person, firm or corporation receiving the same shall display such permit on such vehicle and failure to so display such permit shall cause such permit to become void and of no effect in law.
(d) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
