(a) All independent contractors when entering into an agreement or contract with the Village must provide proof of the following, to the Mayor and Finance Director, before the agreement or contract is valid:
(1) Independent contractors shall provide the Village with a certificate of insurance.
(2) The Village shall be named as an additional insured on the independent contractor’s insurance policy.
(3) The independent contractor shall, in writing, agree to hold the Village harmless for any damages from the contractor’s operations.
(4) The contractor shall agree, in writing, to withhold and pay to the Village, all required Village income tax monies due the Village, before final payment is made.
(b) A copy of this section shall accompany all specifications when bids are sought.
