§ 34.01 INTRODUCTION.
This chapter is designed to assist city officials and staff prior to, and during times of, emergencies and disasters. Each section contains major activities that may need to be organized and/or accomplished depending upon the size and type of emergency or disaster. The activation of this plan and the numbers of responders needed to assist in the emergency operations center (EOC) and/or in the field will depend on the type and size of the emergency or disaster. Additionally, this plan is designed to be modular so that it can be activated in full, or in part, depending on the situation. Each elected official, employee, and designated volunteer should familiarize himself or herself with the requirements and complexities of his or her respective role, with specific focus on what will be required of him or her before, during, and after an emergency or disaster. Other assignments of an ad hoc nature, which are not outlined in this chapter, may be assigned as circumstances require.
