§ 153.05 PRIVATE TREES.
   (A)   Order to preserve or remove procedure. When the City Forester shall find it necessary to order the trimming, preservation, or removal of trees or plants upon private property due to serious epidemic, disease, or pest, or to hazardous conditions which pose a threat to public safety or the welfare of the urban forest, the City Forester shall serve a written order to correct the dangerous condition upon the owner, operator, occupant, or other person responsible for the tree’s existence within the time provided.
   (B)   Method of service. The order may be served in one of the following ways:
      (1)   By making personal delivery of the order to the person responsible;
      (2)   By affixing a copy of the order to the door at the entrance of the premises in violation; or
      (3)   By mailing a copy of the order to the last known address of the owner of the premises by registered mail.
