§ 32.08 PARKS AND TRAILS COMMITTEE.
   (A)   Creation. There is hereby created an ongoing committee known as the Parks and Trails Committee.
   (B)   Members. The Parks and Trails Committee has no limit on the number of members, and all members are appointed and governed consistent with § 32.04(A)(3) of this chapter. The City's Parks Director shall be an ex officio member of the Parks and Trails Committee.
   (C)   Duties and responsibilities. The Parks and Trails Committee shall study and provide objective, current, and relevant information about the quantity and quality of existing or potential park and trail opportunities to the City Council and the City Manager, and as directed shall:
      (1)   Assist in improving the quantity and quality of the park and trail experience for residents and visitors to the city.
      (2)   Assist in providing an optimum range, mix, and location of park and trail opportunities for all people.
      (3)   Assist in relating park and trail plans to other types of planning and the general plan.
      (4)   Conduct research and evaluate the effectiveness of existing facilities.
      (5)   Encourage public and private cooperation to provide diversified park and trail opportunities in the city.
      (6)   Review and report the status of existing and proposed park and trail facilities encouraging innovation in planning, design, funding, and maintenance support.
      (7)   Perform such other duties and functions as are consistent with the promotion of park and trail activities and facilities in the city as directed by the City Council and the City Manager.
