§ 31.02 TERMS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS; TERM LIMITS.
   (A)   (1)   The four district Council members shall be elected for a term of four years in the municipal election.
      (2)   The one at-large member shall be elected for a four-year term in the general election.
      (3)   Each term of office shall begin at noon on January 1 following the election and shall continue until a successor is elected and qualified.

   (B)   Effective with the terms of the Common Council members that commence in January 2024, an individual shall not be eligible for election as a Council member for more than two consecutive four-year terms. Service as a Council member prior to the terms that commence in January 2024 shall not be considered in applying the term limitations of this section. Service of any other partial term subsequent to January 2024 shall not be considered in applying the term limit provisions of this section.
