(a) Official Signs Excluded from Regulations. All signs erected and maintained pursuant to any governmental function and necessary to the public safety and welfare are exempt from regulation under this chapter.
(b) ODOT Permits. All signs within 660 feet of the rights-of-way of Route 224 are subject to regulation by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) under the Ohio Revised Code. Zoning permits for signs within 660 feet of the edge of the right-of-way shall not be issued without evidence that a permit has first been issued by ODOT or notice from ODOT that a state permit is not necessary.
