Whoever violates any provision of this chapter or fails to comply with any of the provisions of the construction and material specifications herein adopted, or fails to comply with any order made thereunder, or violates any statement of specifications or plans submitted and approved thereunder, shall severally for each such violation and noncompliance be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned not more than six months, or both. Each day during or on which any condition in violation of this chapter continues may be considered a separate offense.
