7-2-6: SALE OF VEHICLES:
   A.   Notice Of Sale To Village: Immediately upon the sale of any vehicle licensed under this chapter, when such sale is made prior to the date of expiration of such license, the owner shall remove the license emblem from the vehicle so sold, and within three (3) days after the date of such sale, the owner shall give to the Finance Department a written notification of such sale showing the date thereof, the license number of the vehicle so sold and the name and address or place of business of the purchaser; thereupon such license emblem shall cease to apply to the vehicle so sold.
   B.   Transfer Of License; Fee:
      1.   Whenever the owner of any vehicle licensed under this chapter, before the expiration of such license, sells or otherwise disposes of such vehicle, and acquires another vehicle and desires to transfer the original license to the newly acquired vehicle and notifies the Finance Department of the sale as hereinabove provided, such owner shall make application to the Finance Department for such transfer. The application shall be in compliance with section 7-2-2 of this chapter.
      2.   Upon surrender of the original license emblem (or upon filing with the Finance Department satisfactory proof that the emblem has been lost or destroyed), and upon payment of the appropriate fee, the Finance Department shall transfer such license to apply to the newly acquired vehicle.       3.   The transfer fee shall be three dollars ($3.00); provided, that if the newly acquired vehicle is of a class requiring a higher license fee than was paid for the original license, the transfer fee shall be the amount of difference between the fee paid for the original license and the license fee fixed for the newly acquired vehicle, plus the sum of three dollars ($3.00).
