§ 34.30 MILITARY LEAVE.
   An employee shall be granted paid military leave not to exceed three days, or one tour of duty for platoon shift employees, in order to report for his physical examination for compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of the United States. An employee shall be granted paid short term military leave not to exceed 31 calendar days per year for active military service. The City Manager may approve longer paid leaves of absence in the event an employee's reserve or national guard unit is called into action by the President of the United States or Governor of Ohio, respectively. The employee shall be paid their regular hourly rate, less the amount paid them for their military service by the Armed Forces. Such paid leave shall not affect the right of the employee to his regular annual vacation.
