§ 34.06 HOLIDAYS.
   (A)   All full-time and permanent part-time employees are eligible for paid holidays which include the following:
 
New Year’s Day
Labor Day
Martin Luther King Day
Columbus Day
President’s Day
Veteran’s Day
Memorial Day
Thanksgiving
Independence Day
Christmas
 
   (B)   The following guidelines shall be applied in administering the holiday provisions.
      (1)   If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the preceding Friday.
      (2)   If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday.
      (3)   All non-emergency employees will normally be granted the holiday off. Employees who, because of the nature of their job, are required to work shall be compensated for actual hours worked plus eight hours holiday pay.
      (4)   Department heads on salary who are required to work on a holiday due to unusual circumstances shall be compensated at a rate of twice their equivalent hourly rate.
      (5)   Employees whose normal days off fall on a holiday because of rotating shift schedules shall receive eight hours pay at a straight rate for that holiday or day off.
