§ 154.420 STATEMENT OF INTENT.
The AG Agricultural Conservation District is intended to provide protection from indiscriminate urban encroachment. This protection is extended to active agricultural enterprises and areas suitable for open space and recreational use until they are required for urban expansion and subsequent rezoning, thus enabling growth to be pre-planned and coordinated in an effective manner. Land best suited for this district includes those sections of the Village of West Alexandria that are prime farmland in outlying areas and/or land that has significant natural features, such as wetlands, forest, hillsides, and other open space that should be preserved.
