§ 154.145 EFFECTIVE DATE.
   Such amendment adopted by the Village Council shall become effective 30 days after the date of such adoption, unless within 30 days after the adoption of the amendment there is presented to the Village Council a petition, signed by a number of registered electors residing in the incorporated area of the village equal to not less than 10% of the total vote cast for all candidates for Governor at the last preceding general election at which a Governor was elected, requesting the Village Council to submit the amendment to the electors of such area for approval or rejection at a special election to be held on the day of the next primary or general election.
