The term of service shall be five (5) years, except that the term of service for the first planning commission shall be such that the term of one commissioner shall expire each year during the first five (5) years. One member shall be appointed on or before the second Thursday in February of each year. Any commissioner may be removed with or without cause by the city council upon written charges, if for cause, and after public hearing, if such public hearing is requested by the commissioner. Vacancies shall be promptly filled by appointment for the unexpired term of any commissioner whose term becomes vacant. (1991 Code § 2.32.020, as amended; amd. 2009 Code)
