Any person, firm, or corporation engaged in the junk business as a dealer, or any employee of such dealer who shall be convicted in a court of competent jurisdiction of violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than $100 and pay the costs of prosecution for the first offense; and for each subsequent offense, shall be fined not less than $100 and not more than $300, and may be imprisoned not more than 30 days or both, and pay the costs of prosecution.
