A. The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the safety and welfare of the people and the protection of their property within the City of Wells in an emergency or disaster through organized emergency operations; to provide for the coordination of such operations with appropriate public and private agencies, persons, business associations and organizations; and to provide for the delegation of the disaster assistance responsibilities of the Board of Council Members to those city agencies having the resources for providing disaster assistance.
B. Local Emergency Manager: There is hereby created the office of Local Emergency Manager. Such officer shall be appointed by the mayor and may be the city manager. (Ord. 235, 5-11-2021)
