§ 90.22 BITES.
   Upon learning that a dog or cat has bitten a human, the police officer shall order the dog or cat impounded at the city pound for a period of 14 days at the expense of the owner. If at the end of 14 days the animal is deemed healthy and free from symptoms of rabies, and by payment of any costs incurred by the city in the caring of the animal the animal may be released to its owners. If the biting animal has been inoculated for rabies and the owner has proof of the vaccination by a certificate from a licensed veterinarian, the owner may confine the dog or other animal to the owner’s property.
