(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or cause to be operated a vehicle of any kind having a gross weight in excess of seven tons, upon, over or across any street or alley in the city unless the street or alley is designated as a "truck lane".
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to park or cause to be parked a vehicle of any kind having a gross weight in excess of seven tons, upon any street or alley in the city for a time in excess of two hours.
(C) In the event it is impossible for a vehicle having a gross weight in excess of seven tons to reach its destination within the city by "truck lanes", or if the vehicle is going to be parked upon a street or alley in excess of the two-hour time limit, for any reason including loading, unloading and incapacitation, then the operator(s) of the vehicle shall obtain permission from the Chief of Police of the town or from one given authority by him or her before operating the vehicle upon, over or across any street or alley not designated as a "truck lane" or before parking the vehicle on any street or alley in excess of the time limit.
(D) The Chief of Police shall cause to be erected and maintained at all approaches to the parts of streets on which trucks are prohibited signs of dimensions and at locations as shall be approved by him or her, directing that no trucks are allowed in accordance with the provisions of this section.
