(A) Compensation. The officers and employees of the town shall receive as compensation amounts as may be set from time to time by the Board of Commissioners, acting pursuant to G.S. §§ 160A-64 or 160A-162, as applicable.

(B) Interest in contracts and the like. No member of the Board of Commissioners or other officer or employee of the town shall be pecuniarily interested, directly or indirectly, in any contract made or entered into by the Board or in any matter where the rights or liabilities of the town are or may be involved.
