There is hereby established an "economic development commission" for the purpose of structuring a sound economic development program through conducting such research and inventory of resources and preparation of industrial facts and profiles to be used as presentations to industrial and commercial prospects considering expansion, development or location in the Weiser area. Said commission shall make its findings and recommendations to the city council in the manner prescribed herein.
The commission shall have for its purpose and goal the development of a plan to implement the proper economic development of the area, and is authorized to coordinate its activities with other agencies, boards and committees within the city and similar agencies, boards and committees in the area, and such regional organizations, railroads, utilities and the state department of business and economic development as will effect a successful program of economic expansion.
