Six (6) appointive members of the planning and zoning commission shall be resident taxpayers and must have resided in the county for two (2) years prior to his or her appointment and must remain a resident of the city during his or her service on the commission. The seventh member shall be a resident of the area of impact as defined by section 10-16-2 of this code. The term of office for the ex officio member shall correspond to his respective tenure of office as councilman of the city. The terms for each appointive member shall be four (4) years. Vacancies occurring otherwise and through the expiration of terms shall be filled by the mayor and confirmed by the council. Members shall be selected without respect to political affiliation and shall serve without compensation. (Ord. 1115, 2-12-2001)
