The purpose of this chapter is the protection of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the city. It is determined that sound does constitute a hazard to the quality of life of the residents of this community. Reasonable limitations upon the production of sound and regulation of that sound is in the public interest.
Now, therefore, it is hereinafter the policy of the city to regulate sound generated by loud amplification and other mechanical devices within motor vehicles. (Ord. 1066, 2-10-1998)
